Sixers are 2-0 in Summer League Play, Top Celtics 86-69.

(Orlando, FL) -- I know its only Summer League but when can you say the Sixers are undefeated. In game two of the Orlando Summer League the Philadelphia 76ers topped the Boston Celtics 86-69 to stay perfect at 2-0.

The Sixers were led by the unlikely play of second year point guard Jodie Meeks who dropped 18 points on 6-11 shooting. Meeks was the main pickup at last years draft deadline for the Sixers when he came to Philly from the Milwaukee Bucks.

The most impressive part of the game was the play of third year big man Marreese Speights. The big man finished with a solid double-double of 12 points and 11 boards. I never put much credit into the summer league but Speights has shown up leaner and almost 20 pounds lighter then he was last season.

Evan Turner finished with 13 points and expected starting point guard Jrue Holiday finished with a 10 points 5 assist effort.

Because the Celtics are such as veteran solid team there were no real game tested players involved but for Boston it was a solid effort from former Notre Dame power forward Luke Harangody who finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Hopefully some of this will transfer over to the regular season but for right now its good knowing that three potential starters are going to come into camp with a winning feeling... that was an emotion we lacked a bit last year.

The Sixers are back in action today as they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder at 5 p.m. The Thunder will feature many of their higher profile players from last season like James Harden and Serge Ibaka and will profile their new acquisition of Kansas center Cole Aldrich.
