(Detroit, MI) -- Ben Wallace has agreed to a two-year deal with the Detroit Pistons at $1.9 million a year. Wallace is a 14 year pro and was one of the leaders behind Detroit's 2004 NBA title.
After spending time with the Bulls and Cavaliers since the 2004 title Wallace returned to the Pistons last season and flourished as one of the teams best players, despite the fact they missed the playoffs for the first time since 2001.
Wallace could have searched for better money in free agency but decided to sign with the Pistons so that he can retire in Detroit.
The 35-year old pro 5.5 ppg and 8.7 reb. for his 14-year career. In his first stint with the Pistons (2001-2006) he averaged over 950 rebounds a season and was a four time consecutive Defensive Player of the Year.
