Saturdays 102-95 win over the Houston Rockets was the first of hopefully more "Statement Games" for the Sixers (19-31). It was the first time this year (2010) that the team shot over 65% from the free-throw line and was a rarity with the team getting a win despite losing the turnover and rebounding battles.
The Sixers were looking to avenge their 91-96 loss to the Rockets, which occurred on December 11th.
Saturday was a complete scoring effort for the Sixers as they had five players finishing in double digits including four starters. Andre Iguodala finished with a double-double ending with 14 points and 10 boards. Iggy went six-of-six from the free throw line.
Forward Thaddeus Young came off the bench and ended with a team high 17 points in only 26 minutes of play. The second year forward controlled the ball coming in to play major minutes when Forwards Elton Brand and Andre Iguodala were getting rest time in the second half.
For the Rockets it was a one man game starring guard Aaron Brooks. Brooks ended with a game high 34 points and kept his team in the game with clutch three-pointers. Brooks has completed on a three pointer in every game this season for the Rockets (27-23).
Overall the Sixers ended 35-72 (48%) from the field and from the free throw line almost finished perfect going 22-23 from the charity stripe. On the contrast Houston shot only 41% (34-83) from the field.
Next up for the Sixers is a visit from Jonny Flynn and the Minnesota Timberwolves (13-38). Both teams are on four game winning streaks when they meet at the Wachovia Center. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
Game Summary: The Amare trade is completely FUCKED. Now Iguodala looks like a player so Stefanski is going to get sentimental and not trade him. Eddie Jordan gets a longer leash so they wont fire him either. And now every game they win they are getting closer to losing out on the lottery FUCK
